Exploring Volunteer Opportunities with The Empowerment Factory

The Empowerment Factory is a non-profit dedicated to giving children the skills they need to lead happier, healthier lives. Our project-based experiential learning approach focuses on three areas of development: creativity, self-esteem, and civic pride. At the heart of our work is the Creative Squad program, which encourages a balanced combination of individual thinking, peer interaction, and teamwork.

Our non-profit community learning center was founded in 2014 by nationally renowned artist and educator, Gail Ahlers. In August 2016, we achieved federal 501(c)(3) nonprofit status. The Empowerment Factory's blended learning model has positively impacted over 3700 urban youth with the creation of 34 after-school clubs and 13 summer programs.

The Empowerment Factory provides a variety of programing, workshops, and events while building a community of support for our youth and families.

Our vision is that The Empowerment Factory will be the State of Rhode Island's most trusted source for innovative programs that provide essential skills and inspire creativity, self-esteem and civic pride.
