Neigh there, friends!
We’re the therapy horse herd at Manes for Movement — that’s Chance, Tater Tot, Goldie, Patches, Dolly, and Jordan — and we’re trotting in to tell you all about our favorite time of year: the Month of Giving!
First things first: we LOVE our jobs. Every day, we get to help children and adults of all abilities grow stronger, more confident, and more independent. All while getting plenty of hugs, smiles, and (our favorite part) treats!
Not to toot our own horns — or should we say whinny our own whinnies — but Manes for Movement wouldn’t be the same without us. We’re the heart of the program, and keeping us happy and healthy helps every rider reach their fullest potential.
But here’s the thing… caring for a herd like ours takes a lot of hay, heart, and hard work.
It costs over $15,000 each year per therapy horse. That’s more than $90,000 annually to feed us, house us, and keep our hooves, teeth, and tummies in tip-top shape.
Your generosity during the Month of Giving ensures that we can keep doing what we do best — bringing hope, healing, and joy through horse-assisted therapies and adaptive riding.
