Adaptive horseback riding, or therapeutic horseback riding, shares the joys and physical benefits of the sport of horseback riding in a way that is inclusive for riders with a variety of needs. In this program, riders focus on the development of horsemanship and horseback riding skills. Riders are able to experience a sense of responsibility and independence while caring for their equine partners. They are also able to take ownership of their sport. Teamwork and social skills are developed as riders connect with others over a shared activity and interest. This year, Manes for Movement was able to collaborate with the local Peninsula Equestrian Circuit horse shows to create an Adaptive Horseback Riding class. This created an opportunity
for all adaptive riding students in our community to show off their skills and the hard work that they put in week after week. Please consider donating to support the Manes for Movement adaptive horseback riders and the Show Team!
