Jackson is a 10-year-old little boy who loves riding Rufus. It's the highlight of his week, week after week, every Saturday morning! Jackson was born with a neurodevelopmental disorder that makes it difficult for his brain to communicate with the rest of his body. Jackson began riding at Manes for Movement when he was just 4 years old. He has always been so proud to be able to say that he is able to ride a horse! It's something that gives him a huge sense of accomplishment, which is sometimes rare when your motor skills are so limiting. Jackson is visibly animated and excited when he arrives at the barn. No matter what else is going on in his life, his rides are a time for fun! He doesn't notice, but he is also gaining strength, balance and postural improvement from his weekly rides. Additionally, Jackson loves asking about what the horses had for breakfast. He truly wants to make sure they are well fed and taken care of! Manes for Movement provides an invaluable service to the special needs community in the South Bay. We feel incredibly lucky to be a part of the Manes for Movement family and would be devastated if for some reason Jackson and others like him could no longer ride. Please support Manes for Movement during this Month of Giving!
