Research shows that when cost is no longer a barrier, families with limited incomes actively seek out fresh, nutritious foods. Virginia Fresh Match helps remove that barrier by doubling the value of SNAP benefits for fruits and vegetables, making it easier for families to choose fresh, healthy options while supporting local farmers.
What began in 2015 as a grassroots effort among farmers markets to make local food more accessible has grown into a statewide network. Today, Virginia Fresh Match operates at over 150 locations, including independent grocery stores, mobile markets, farm stands, and community-supported agriculture (CSA) programs, ensuring more Virginians can access fresh, locally grown food, and food dollars are spent with local farms and businesses.
To continue meeting the needs of families and farmers across Virginia, we invite you support this vital network through a donation.
